Do You Know Your ABO Type?

There has been extensive scientific research over the past 30 years that shows evidence that your individual blood type determines your predisposition to  getting certain diseases, such as cancer, heart disease, diabetes, lupus, muscular sclerosis, allergies, etc.  Our blood type also determines what type of biochemistry our digestive systems are made of. "Your blood type is a powerful genetic fingerprint that identifies you as surely as your DNA".  Do you know what your blood type is? If not, you may ask your physician to order a special blood test for you to determine what your blood type is, because in  most cases unless you have been hospitalized, had surgery, or have given blood, this type of blood screening is not ordinarily done as a matter of routine.

What is on Your Plate?

Most of us know that a chemical reaction occurs between your blood and the foods we eat, it is part of our  genetic inheritance.  But many do not know that protein lectins plays a big role in how our blood agglutinates and reacts to certain food causing this gluing process to take place, in other words if you eat a food containing protein lectins that are incompatible with your blood type and stomach enzymes that food can now target an organ or body system ( kidney, brain, stomach etc.) and begin to agglutinate the blood cells in that area. Food Lectins have characteristics that are close enough to certain blood type antigen to make it an enemy to another, for example milk has Type B like qualities; so if a person with Type A blood drinks it, their system will immediately start this blood gluing process in order to reject it resulting, then in foods that are not broken down or digested properly, and the vitamin and mineral do not get absorbed into your bloodstream to fuel and nourish your body.

What Can Lectins Do To Your Health!

Lectin might be a new word for you, or perhaps not.  Science has known about lectins for a long time, but it wasn’t until Dr. D’Adamo began his research with food lectins and how we react to them that their significance really gained momentum.  A lectin is just a small protein and these proteins are naturally occurring in several species of plants and sometimes animals.  Plant lectins are used as a defense system to kill fungus and small insects.  Some lectins are bad for everybody, like the ones in castor beans.  If you extract castor bean lectins, you end up with a well known biological poison called Ricin.  Other lectins are blood type specific, meaning they only affect one or two blood types, but not the others.  This works because lectins are like Velcro to your blood cells.  If you eat a protein, fruit or seed with a lectin that likes your blood type, it will cause your blood cells to stick togetherLectins can clot your blood cells together, cause acute and chronic inflammation, destroy intestinal microvilli, attach to insulin receptors and cause cells to become insulin resistant and store fat, and it can also slow the absorption of protein and other nutrients.  You can learn more about lectin pros and cons in Dr. D’Adamo Live Right 4 Your Type Book.

Genuine Weight Loss Goes Deeper

For a diet not designed as a traditional calorie-cutting “diet,” why is the Blood Type Diet so successful at helping people reach their natural, healthy weight?  Over  several decades, researchers have identified over 1,000 common foods that contain powerful proteins called lectins. These food lectins become active and important for you when they interact with your blood type.  For example, after consuming any number of foods containing wheat, both blood types O and A can experience bloating and other digestive problems. This may be more than a simple “food intolerance.” The walls of the stomach and intestines are lined with sensitive receptors that interact with, and respond to, the lectin in wheat.  At first, you may only experience that wheat lectin interaction as a mild digestive problem, or a dull, listless feeling after consuming foods not right for you.  Over time, the result is a steadily deteriorating state of health, loss of energy and weight gain.  The good news is, by removing these targeted foods and replacing them with foods more suitable for your blood type, you begin to experience the benefits of a leaner, cleaner, more energetic body.....

The Diet That Fits Like A Glove!

Before I made my decision to follow this diet I ask myself, what do I have to lose besides the weight, joint pain or lack of energy? Then I came to the realization that it was more like what am I going to gain by eating this way? For with all the health challenges facing us today and one that is causing such high incidence  of  illnesses, diseases and diabetes just to name a few, and which is driving many to try  every  remedy and or diet under the sun just trying to find a cure or relieve. What  I discovered is that they are only a few nutritional and or diet programs that can really deliver results, and for me it was  the Blood Type diet were the results has been the most dramatic and life changing, and while some people do not know or ever heard of the this type of diet, they are others that think it is a restrictive diet, and this is simply because they are under the impression that they will have to avoid many of the foods  they are so accustom to eating.......

Are You Genotyping?

Broadening his approach to diet and health beyond the four blood types ( O, A, B and AB) naturopathic physician Dr. Peter D'Adamo the author of “Eat Right 4 Your Type” profiles six GenoTypes and explains how we can reprogram gene responses to lose and maintain weight, repair cells, avoid illness and age well.  The difference between the GenoType diet and the Blood Type diet, is that the GenoType is a customized program that works with our genetic makeup to maximize our health and weight loss, and prevent or even reverse disease.  With the right tools we can turn on good genes and shut down the bad ones. Things like family history, blood type  and using some diagnosis tools like fingerprints analysis, and jaw shape can know determine your GenoType, and it all can be done without expensive test or even a visit to your doctor.

They are six genetics types and with the genotyping kit you can know discover what your GenoType reveals about you.  This diet base on genetics is the latest and most cutting-edge research in the twenty first century by Dr D’Adamo, and it is a unique plan for wellness and weight loss.  In comparing the two the Genotype Diet is base on our genetic makeup and the study of epigenetics (the study of the interaction between genes and environment) and the Blood Type diet corresponds to our exact biological profile and understanding of the dynamic natural forces within our own body, but knowing your blood type is important to determining your own unique GenoType.  In one way or another I feel that most of us can greatly benefit from these findings.  Yours in health.

Thumbs Up To The Blood Type Diet!

My wife is a great fan of Dr. Oz and it is good to know that he gave the thumbs up to the Blood Type diet, and it was in the for women only First magazine that he stated that eating right for his type gives him more vital energy, and don't we all need that!  They are a few skeptics and critics in the medical field that gleefully bash the very idea that blood type could possibly have a significant role in human health, other than ensuring a proper match for a blood transfusion and who through heaps of conclusions that can barely compare to the many years of research and work of Dr. Peter D’Adamo, the Blood Type diet continues to gain momentum across the world with the results speaking for themselves.  The majority of his followers myself included are sharing a passion reaching far beyond following a formula that leads to well being,  but there is also the understanding of the science behind the data this concept has open doors into the biochemical understanding of the modern man that are always seeking for a better quality of life in the health arena........

The Lectins Dirty Secrets!

While dietary lectins are known in the scientific and nutritional communities, most lay people and even many medical professionals don’t know about them.  Lectins are involved in food allergies/sensitivities, inflammation and autoimmune disease, just to name a few.  For instance, lectins are linked to celiac disease.  Even weight gain and low energy can be linked to lectinsLectins are problematic because they are sticky molecules that can bind to the linings of human tissue, especially intestinal cells.   In so doing, they disable cells in the GI tract  keeping them from repairing and rebuilding. Therefore lectins can contribute to eroding your intestinal barrier and result in (leaky gut or diverticulitis).   Because the lectins also circulate throughout the bloodstream they can bind to any tissue in the body in the thyroid, pancreas, collagen, joints, etc.  This binding can disrupt the function of that tissue and cause white blood cells to attack the lectin-bound tissue, destroying it.  This is an autoimmune response.  The lectins in wheat for example, are specifically known to be involved in rheumatoid arthritis.....

Just Right For Your Type Cookbook!

Our human body tries to handle everything you give it but sometimes it cannot or will not, then the damage can be greater or lesser depending on how bad the food is for you and your particular body chemistry.   After nearly twenty years of research Dr. Peter D’Adamo has revealed the connection between blood type and health, and now with the help of a team of chefs he has put together a cookbook chock-full of delicious recipes for each blood type.  For  meat eaters or vegetarians, there is a thirty-day meal plan to help you integrate this way of eating into your life and there's plenty of advice for eating well on the run.......

You Should Eat What Your Are!

Certain foods and food groups act like poisons to certain blood types. What can be a medicine for one person; can be a poison for another this is possibly due to genetics.  We were born with a basic blood type O, A, B, or AB.  Do you know your blood type?  We are what we eat, but we should "Eat What we Are" if we truly want to enjoy better health and weight management this simply means that each of us should eat the diet that is compatible with our blood type.   In the animal kingdom instinct is what drives animals to eat, Lions are meat eaters and that is what they eat, while other animals are vegetarian and by instinct will not eat meat......

Is Your Diet Compatible With Your Blood Type?

Most of us know to be skeptical when we see a weight loss program that promotes a ‘one size fits all’ approach.  With such a generalized view of health, these programs lose sight of the individual - you! It is no wonder so many diets don’t seem to work.  Other weight loss programs promise success by looking at only one factor, like calorie reduction or counting carbohydrates. Following the narrow guidelines of these programs shifts our focus from what really matters - our overall health......

Do you know your blood type and what foods you need to Avoid and why?

Do you know your blood type and what foods you need to “Avoid” and why?  Well one of the reasons, why you need to avoid certain food base on your blood type is due to the presence of lectin in the foods we eat, see all foods contain chemicals known as lectinsLectins that are incompatible with one's blood type create negative reactions.  For starters, they cause agglutination of the blood, meaning they make red blood cells "sticky" so they clump together. This results in a reduction in oxygen supply in the body and lowered immunity.  Lectins can also interfere with protein digestion, block hormones, trigger immune reactions and impair absorption.  Understanding which foods contains lectins compatible with your body blood type and which foods contain lectins that are not is the basis of the blood type diet......

All Type's Needs Deflect!

Deflect is a natural product composed of 'blocking sugars' designed to interfere with the adherence of troublesome dietary lectins. Since many lectins are ABO blood type specific, there are 4 different deflect formulas: one for each blood type. The blocking sugars in Deflect can be considered 'sacrificial molecules' that attach to carbohydrate receptors on the lectins, rendering them unable to bind to the cells of the body......
